Employment
We are always interested in talking with enthusiastic, energetic people who wish to work in domestic cleaning. If you have not worked as a professional domestic cleaner, but possess the following qualities, you have the potential to work with us:
- honesty
- integrity
- reliability
- attention to detail
- initiative
All potential cleaners are interviewed by one of the principals of the business and have their references checked; if at this stage both parties believe that a good working relationship can be formed we will then go on to the next stage.
All cleaners new to Household Cleaning Services are then required to undergo theoretical and practical training. Following this training cleaners will be trialled to ensure that their skills and quality of work meet Household Cleaning Services standards. Cleaners are paid at the normal rate for all trial cleans.
We have a policy that all cleaners must be treated with respect and must also feel comfortable working in their client's home. If for any reason you are not comfortable in a client's home we will find you another placement.
Cleaners are contractors to the client they work for and are responsible for their own superannuation and taxation payments. Household Cleaning Services provides workers compensation insurance for cleaners, as is required by ACT WorkCover.
