Hints to help get the clean you need

Good communication is vital; it helps build rapport with your cleaner.  It is important that your cleaner knows what you want done and also if something is not done the way you like it.  Often it is small things, that are easily remedied, that will cause irritation to you.

A tidy house means that your cleaner can spend more time cleaning. Some ways of achieving that are:

  • Madly fly around the house before the cleaner comes, this usually results in:
You becoming tired and frustrated about the state of the house, and
Your partner telling you, and others, that you clean the house for the cleaner!

OR

  • Each evening before bed spend 5 -10 minutes picking up and putting things away.  This means that you can start each day with a tidy house and not have to worry about tidying up for the cleaner.

Keep your bathroom counter as clear as possible. This lets the cleaner get in and do a great job. It also means that it is quick and easy for you to freshen up the bathroom if you want to. This is especially important for people who have the cleaner come fortnightly.

Again, for those with a fortnightly clean, the toilet usually needs a clean once each week. First clean the bowl with a brush, then using a cloth, wipe off the back of the toilet, the seat, the rim and lastly the sides and floor. If there are small boys in your home then this should probably be a daily task!
